El Puertecico is a small village with only 166 inhabitants and offers the traveller a special tranquil place to relax and recharge their batteries. The village is over 950 metres above sea level with outstanding views of the local countryside providing travellers with a special destination to relax and enjoy a restful stay, or as a base to explore the surrounding villages, towns, beaches and countryside, and an ideal base for Walking Holidays, Mountain Biking, Holidays, Running Holidays, Photography Holidays, Bird Watching Holidays, Drawing Holidays, Triathlon Training Holidays, Sports Warm Weather Training. Skiing is available as the Sierra Nevada is approximately a two and a half hour drive away.
The village is surrounded by Almond and Olive Groves, Fig and Pomegranate Trees and further away are swathes of Orange and Lemon and Groves.
El Puertecico is approximately 40 to 45 minutes from the sea at Mojacar or San Juan de los Terreros, and we are approximtaely 12 minutes from the large town of Huercal Overa which has Banks, Post Office, Shops, Supermarkets (Lidl, Consum, Mercadona, Dia), Doctors, Dentists, one of the Top Ten Hospitals in Spain, and a Theatre.
We have good transport links and road network with 3 airports all within 120 minutes of us...
Almeria Airport is approximately 70 minutes.
Murcia International Airport (Corvera) is approximately 75 minutes.
Alicante Airport is approximately 120 minutes.
Casita Higuera, 1 Bedroom House which sleeps 2 people;
It has its own private entrance with an open plan Kitchen, Dining area and Lounge area. With a modern bathroom downstairs and upstairs one bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of draws, bedside tables and a door leading out to its own Private Terrace area with a shaded Pergola seating/eating area. There is NO Swimming Pool with this Property.
Casita Ladera, 2 Bedroom House which sleeps 2 people;
The Casita has its own private entrance with a fully modern "Spanish" style kitchen with dining area, steps then lead down into the lounge area with wood log burner, sofa, chairs and television. Upstairs is a modern bathroom with walkin shower, there are 2 bedrooms both come with double beds, wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables, with views over the surrounding Countryside. There is NO Swimming Pool with this Property.
Casa Las Palomas, 3 Bedroom House which sleeps up to 6 people;
The property consists of 3 Bedrooms with all 3 of the Bedrooms having their own ensuite bathrooms. There are King Size Beds available in all of the 3 bedrooms and one of the Bedrooms has an area just off the main bedroom which holds another 2 single beds so perfect as a family bedroom. Downstairs there is a large fully fitted kitchen with a large range cooker with a Utility Room just off the kitchen area and also a separate Dining Room as well. Up through to the hallways where you will then go through to the Lounge area. Off the hallway and up the stairs are the 3 bedrooms along with access to a Roof Terrace with fantastic views over the surrounding countryside. Downstairs via the kitchen is the private terrace area with private swimming pool, sunbeds and dining table and chairs.
PLEASE NOTE; that upon arrival we now need to take a copy of every guests Passports or any other form of ID that is used. This has just been implemented by the Junta de Andalucia as part of our Tourism License as we now need to register all of our guests with the Guardia Civil whilst staying with us.
